View a summary of the log file for an import that was done in Cognos Controller classic.

Link to IBM Planning Analytics
Your administrator can configure a link to your Planning Analytics environment. When configured, a Planning Analytics icon is enabled in the left pane of the landing page. Click the icon to go to your Planning Analytics environment.

Filter list of accounts in forms

In the forms window, you can filter a period and actuality column so that you don’t have to scroll through all the accounts to find the one you’re looking for.

Journal locking

In Cognos Controller classic when a company is locked for a period and submission, it locks certain journal types as determined by the period locking settings Use Period Locking on Company Level and Closing Version (Maintain > Configuration > General General 1 tab). You can still post journal types that are outside of the chosen closing version. This functionality is now available in Controller Web.

Use Form Set in Data Entry – Journals setting

This setting filters the list of available accounts to only the ones in the period and actuality of a submission. This setting is now supported in Controller Web. For more information, see Settings in the General Configuration.

The Use Form Set in Data Entry – Journals setting can be used along with the DEJOURNAL_SUBMLOCK server preference in General Configuration, which allows you to lock a period that has multiple submissions at the submission level. If you have Use Form Set in Data Entry – Journals selected and DEJOURNAL_SUBMLOCK set to true, and one or more submissions are locked, only the accounts in the open submissions in the period are available for use in company journals. The DEJOURNAL_SUBMLOCK server preference is now supported in Controller Web.

Submission name change appears in Controller Web

When you change the name of a submission in Cognos Controller classic, the new name appears in Controller Web in the submission status window and when you open a company workflow.

Specify a counter dimension on intercompany accounts

You can specify the counter dimension in the data entry forms for the inter company accounts set for counter dimension. For more information, see Enter reported values.

Specify a lookup table for a counter dimension

You can specify a look-up table for a counter dimension in an import specification. The look-up tables that can be specified are the ones created for Extended Dimension 1.

Cognos Controller classic

The following feature is new in Cognos Controller classic:

Show or hide system reserved journals
In the Data Entry – Company Journals and Data Entry – Group Journals windows, you can choose to show or hide reserved journal numbers. When you open the journal number list, it shows or hides reserved journal numbers.
