The recent Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) briefing document ‘NHS financial temperature check’ concludes that the “financial performance of the NHS remains under significant financial pressure and public scrutiny continues to increase”
What is evident from the key findings of this briefing is that forecasting, planning and performance measurement are fundamental processes within the NHS. This is reinforced by Future Focused Finance (FFF) who identify Efficient Processes & Systems as one of the six key action areas.
