Microsoft will no longer provide automatic fixes, updates, or online technical assistance. Vulnerabilities in the operating system that are discovered after this date will not be fixed by Microsoft. Furthermore, after that date security updates, bug fixes or technical content updates for the legacy platform will no longer be available. Consequently, data and resources that are tied to Windows Server 2008 or R2 will become increasingly vulnerable to cyber-attacks and it won’t be long before those systems are specifically targeted and exploited.
